Mike Farley started the Michael J. Media Group in 2002, after achieving regional success in Northeast Ohio as a musical artist. He decided to put his networking and publicity skills to good use by helping other bands, artists, and other businesses achieve maximum exposure regionally and nationally. After living in Nashville for seven years, MJM recently moved to Madison, Wisconsin. MJM boasts a roster of over 25 clients and has become one of the most sought after indie publicists. Current and former clients include Flyleaf, Dropping Daylight, Al Di Meola, Poco, Pure Prairie League, The Samples, The Clarks, The Kentucky Headhunters, Michael Tolcher, Chris Knight, and Pat McGee Band
The Mike Farley Band released four independent albums and was voted Best Rock Band by the Cleveland Free Times two years in a row. Mike and his band opened for such artists as Dave Matthews, Tori Amos, Edwin McCain and the Pretenders. His songs have been placed on ABC-TV’s All My Children, as well as in MTV’s Undressed and ESPN’s X-Games. In addition, the Houston Astros baseball team licensed Mike’s song “Play Ball” for their team video, which was shown in Minute Maid Park for every home game during the 2003 season.
