September 3. Seriously?
I know I write about time whizzing by every month, so I’ll spare you for the rest of this newsletter. I will say, though, that I am thrilled that it’s time for football season again, and I’m ready to watch my Giants defend their Super Bowl title starting this Wednesday night. And because I sometimes like to make these missives interactive, and if you feel so inclined—send me your pick for the two teams you think will reach the Super Bowl, which team will win, and why. I will compile the replies in some fun way somewhere, be it in another newsletter or on one of my blogs.
Meanwhile, we have some new projects and album releases coming up that I’m really excited about. So let’s get to it…..
New Clients and Upcoming Releases
Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project: For the past two decades, Atlanta native Ed Roland has been the front man and heart of the platinum-selling rock band Collective Soul. He’s written seven # 1 radio hits, and has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. With the Sweet Tea Project, Roland has teamed up with a group of friends and musicians for a new approach to his classic hit-making style. www.thesweetteaproject.com
The Speedbumps Pairing a local band with their local symphony is not an everyday occurrence, but that’s exactly what Kent band The Speedbumps will be doing when they take the stage for one night only with the Canton Symphony Orchestra on October 26 to present a contemporary collaboration of their award winning songs. The Speedbumps incorporate a combination of hollow-bodied instruments like cello, upright bass, ukulele, and acoustic guitar to create an eclectic but approachable sound, perfect for blending with a full orchestra. www.thespeedbumps.com
A Clever Con Mannequin Love Part 1 (October 16) “Katy Perry Sex Tape”??... “I Am Spartacus”?!? A Clever Con (ACC) must be back -- and they are with the follow-up to their 2009 debut, The Robot EP and a brand new music video too. There have been a few twists and turns, but the snarky, witty and fun foursome is ready with a high voltage batch of songs that are musically more mature than anything they’ve done before. facebook.com/aclevercon
